Due to the continued weather conditions, South Central Schools will be closed Friday, February 4, 2022. All after-school activities for Friday will be canceled. The boy's basketball game versus Western Reserve will be determined sometime tomorrow (Friday, February 4, 2022). Stay tuned for information regarding Saturday events. Please be safe!


Based on the latest forecast, South Central Local Schools will be CLOSED Thursday, February 3. All after-school events for TODAY are still in operation, with the expectation that all events will end by 7:00pm; the Girls Varsity Basketball game at St. Paul has been canceled and rescheduled for Saturday, February 12 at St. Paul. JH Girls basketball tournament has been canceled and rescheduled for Monday, February 7 at South Central.



January is SCHOOL BOARD APPRECIATION MONTH. Thank you to our Board of Education for your leadership and commitment to our students, staff, and communities. We appreciate your efforts in leading us into the future. Thank you for all your dedication and hard work for our school district. We appreciate all the time you spend serving our board!

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Valid ODE Student Monitor Permit
Meets all mandated health requirements.
A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school
employment.
Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
Willing to keep current with advances in equipment and technology that
supports job function.
Ability to assist special needs students
Congenial disposition and strong diplomacy skills

South Central Local Schools continue to need substitutes, especially educational aide substitutes! The administration recently modified its requirements for an individual to qualify as an educational aide sub--applicants need a minimum of a High School Diploma, apply for a Student Monitor Permit through ODE (along with appropriate background checks), and complete a school employment application. CHROMEBOOK INFORMATION: We are opening the Chromebook insurance window starting Jan 4, 2022 for two weeks.
If you haven’t yet bought insurance for your student’s Chromebook, (once purchased) the student will be eligible to take the device home with them for the remainder of the school year. After these two weeks, the insurance window will not be open again until next school year.
